How to use Adjust Image Hue

  1. 1. Load a colorful image. Drop the picture into the input pane. Hue rotation only acts on color, so saturated images transform dramatically while grays and whites pass through untouched.
  2. 2. Rotate the hue. Drag the Hue rotation slider, measured in degrees around the color wheel. At 120 degrees reds become greens and greens become blues; at 180 every color flips to its complement; 360 returns to the original.
  3. 3. Download the recolored image. Scrub the slider slowly and watch the whole palette shift in the preview. Stop at a rotation where the scheme works, then save the recolored file.

When to use Adjust Image Hue

Adjust Image Hue rotates every pixel's color around the color wheel by a chosen number of degrees, leaving brightness and saturation alone. It is the fastest way to try a graphic in a completely different color scheme, because relationships between colors are preserved while the whole palette moves together.

  • Recoloring UI mockups and icons. A blue-themed interface mockup needs to be shown in the client's green branding. A single hue rotation shifts every shade coherently, keeping hover states and gradients consistent with each other.
  • Generating color variants of one asset. Game sprites, sticker packs and merch designs often ship in several colorways. Rotating the same source by 60, 120 and 240 degrees produces a matched family of variants in minutes.
  • Exploring palettes before committing. When a poster's palette feels off but you cannot say why, sweeping the hue slider tours every alternative scheme. Seeing the design at other rotations makes the right answer obvious.
  • Surreal and psychedelic edits. Purple grass and orange skies are one slider drag away. Partial rotations around 90 degrees give landscapes an otherworldly cast that filters built from presets cannot reach.

About the Adjust Image Hue tool

Adjust Image Hue does its work locally, right in the browser. Rotate the color hue of every pixel around the color wheel. There is no upload step, no queue and no account, and your data never travels over the network.

It belongs to the Image Tools collection on EditSafely, a set of 200 small, focused Image utilities that share the same instant, private workspace.

You can shape the output with the Hue rotation (°) setting, and the result refreshes the moment you change it. The finished file is put together in browser memory and saved with the Download button, so it never touches a server on the way to your disk. A worked example further down the page shows exactly what the tool produces for a real input.

Running locally also makes the tool fast and dependable: results appear as you type or drop a file, there is no server outage that can take it down mid-task, and confidential data can be processed without a second thought.
