Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
EditSafely (editsafely.com) is built around a simple idea: your data is yours. This page explains what happens to the information you work with on this site, what little we do collect, and the choices you have.
Your files and data stay on your device
Every tool on EditSafely runs entirely inside your web browser. When you paste text, type input or open a file in a tool, the processing happens locally on your own device using JavaScript. Your input is never uploaded to our servers, never transmitted over the network and never stored, logged or seen by us. When you close the page, it is gone.
No accounts and no signup
EditSafely does not offer or require accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details to use the tools, and we do not maintain any database of users or their activity.
Data stored in your browser
The site stores two small preferences in your browser's local storage: your choice of light or dark theme, and your answer to the analytics cookie banner. These values never leave your browser and you can remove them at any time by clearing your browser data for this site.
Advertising
EditSafely is free to use and is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can learn more about how Google uses data on partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out of third-party ad cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
Ad cookies relate only to the pages you visit, never to the content you enter into the tools, which stays on your device as described above.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools are used, so we know what to improve and what to build next. It uses cookies (such as _ga) to count visits and records events like page views, tool usage, searches, copies and downloads.
Analytics never sees the content you work on. What you type, paste or open in a tool is processed on your device and is not part of any analytics data. You can block analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or any standard content blocker.
Server logs
Like almost every website, the servers that deliver our pages may record standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. These logs are used only to operate and secure the service, are not linked to any identity, and are retained only briefly by our hosting provider.
Children
EditSafely is a general-audience website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Because the site collects so little, changes are expected to be rare.
